Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account, using SafeGloss, or contacting support. This may include account details (name, email), course and glossary content, roster/enrollment data, usage events, and technical data (IP address, browser/device metadata).

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and maintain the service, support classroom workflows, generate glossary content and translations, secure accounts, troubleshoot issues, and comply with legal obligations.

Google Classroom and OAuth Data

When a teacher connects Google Classroom, SafeGloss requests limited Google scopes required for course/roster import. We use Google data only for the teacher-authorized integration flow.

Google access/refresh tokens are stored to maintain the connection and are cleared when a connection is disconnected or re-authorization is required. Teachers can disconnect integrations at any time.

SafeGloss's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers that support platform operations (such as hosting, authentication, analytics, email delivery, and payments), and only as needed to provide services under contractual safeguards. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and protect your account credentials.

Your Choices

You may access, update, or delete certain data via your account settings and workflows. You can disconnect third-party integrations (including Google Classroom) to stop further data access. To request deletion or exercise additional privacy rights, contact us using the details below.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, support classroom and research operations, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Integration credentials are removed when integrations are disconnected or invalidated.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

SafeGloss uses cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, maintain security, remember preferences, and support core functionality. We may also use analytics-related storage to understand product usage and improve reliability.

You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login and other core service features from functioning correctly.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by other appropriate means.
